The stages are set for a full line up of entertainment throughout the ENTIRE Oldham County Day on Saturday, July 16, 2022, from 8:30 am to 3:00 pm.
To beat the crowd, the Rotary Club has their annual All You Can Eat Pancake Breakfast starting at 7:00 am and they will serve you until 10:30 am!
There will be three staged areas plus this varied and exciting strolling entertainment—a magician, Evan Era, showing how to do magic, the River Lotus Lion Dancers in their amazing colorful costumes, the guys wearing the dark sunglasses known as the Bluegrass Blues Brothers, and the Living Statues if you can find them as the Copper Farmer and Penny!! Be sure to have your phone close at hand to take photos with these personable performers!
At the City Place Plaza Lawn (bring a chair or blanket), will be the electronic music of FKE IMGE (Fake Image), Brothers From Different Mothers. Our beloved Oldham County Community Band, under the direction of Brad Rogers are a local favorite, The band, Jaden, will be featuring an impressive 14 year old singer.
In the wooden Gazebo on 2 nd Street will be that fun group, The Bluegrass Blues Brothers band, a favorite solo music artist from last year, Andrew Lee, The School of Rock is back by popular demand, and talented Waddy, Kentucky Acoustic Guitarist, Lil’ Jimmy Ritchey, will take the stage for the first time at Oldham County Day. And, Julia Jayne, just 16, is a singer songwriter acoustic act that just cut her first album on July 2!
On the History Center Lawn will be artists of movement—Alexa Pruitt, just 12 years old who choreographed her own abstract dance moves, the sweet dance group, Boogie Down Crew from Downs Syndrome of Louisville is back for a second year,
and the River Lotus Lion Dancers will be an eye-popping display of dance and culture!
At the back of the Springs Park, past the splash park, near the railroad tracks will be a delightful petting zoo of soft, furry, friendly creatures from Farmer Steve. It will be a fabulous variety of events for the eyes to see, the ears to hear, and the hands to touch! VERY IMPORTANT CHANGE!!!!! IN AN EFFORT TO COOPERATE WITH CSX RAILROADS AND THE REMODEL OF THE COURTHOUSE WE ARE ATTEMPTING TO MINIMIZE OUR TIMES ON THE RAILROAD TRACK SO THE PARADE ROUTE WILL BE SLIGHTLY ALTERED.

You will be participating in a parade that will delight the nearly 10,000 who attend Oldham County Day each year.
So…the process is simple… Just fill out the form ?????????. You can fill out the registration form and start getting your float ready. Remember:
• Everyone loves a parade!
• Fill out your registration form!
• Upon receipt of your registration, a parade handbook will be you emailed to you. Handbooks will be mailed in early June.
ASSEMBLY LOCATIONS:
Authorized Units for TBA Area
1. All Commercial and Non Commercial Floats… Project Guild wants your unit to look like a float—not just an advertisement. Please incorporate the theme “50 Years of Greatness” into your unit.
2. All walkers accompanying floats or other motorized units need to wait for you at LaGrange Elementary unless your float is big enough to handle all your walkers to ride up to LaGrange Elementary where the parade actually begins.
3. All Motorized Vehicles – with this exception the Fire Trucks & Shriner Participants meet at different locations. The Shriners will park at the lot next to the elementary school. Fire trucks on 6th street and the tractors park at the United Methodist Church.
4. All Horses and Trailers – you must keep horses in the grassy area until the parade begins. Arrive with “pooper scoopers” to clean up your area.
Parking:
• Parking is limited only to units in the parade… we are asking groups to travel to the parade assembly area together. If a person must come separately we ask that someone drop them off and pick them up later.
• Because of limited parking spots… large groups, such as football teams, bands, cheerleaders, dance groups & beauty contestant winners need to carpool. We suggest that you meet at the (TBA) and utilize your personal vans & school buses to carpool your group participants to your designated staging area.

At North 6th Street & Hwy.146, 602 West Jefferson Street – Kosair Shriners
At South 6th Street & Hwy. 146 – Fire Trucks
At Covenant United Methodist Church- Tractors
Assembly Location At La Grange Elementary (500 West Jefferson St.)
All bicycles (for judging, look for sign designating ages).
• All mini Floats
• Grand Marshal
• South Oldham High School Band
• Oldham County High School Band
• North Oldham High School Band
• Lead Law Enforcement Vehicle
• Color Guard & Banner Carriers
• Living Treasures
• Groups that are walkers only and do NOT accompany a vehicle
Parade Routes
• Parade will line up at LaGrange Elementary at 9:45 a.m.
• Parade will Begin at LaGrange Elementary at 10:00 a.m.
• Parade will continue up Fifth Street and make a left on Hwy 146 and follow Main Street to the corner of Hwy146 and Hwy 53.
• Right on Hwy 53 and cross the railroad tracks.
• The parade ends at Hwy 53 & Washington Street in front of City Place. All motorized units may continue on Hwy 53 and turn into the SouthEast Christian Church Parking Lot to park or unload further.
***Please remember…For the safety of our participants the Police departments will not allow the unloading of any participants before the end of the parade route at Washington Street.
Street Closings between 10 a.m. and noon
• On Highway 53 to Washington Street.
• On Main from Hwy 53 to Fifth Street.
• Fifth Street
• Note: Access to adjoining streets will be limited before and during the parade.
Parade Guidelines & Rules:
• All Parade units must be decorated and the theme is “50 Years of Greatness”.
• No exotic animals please.
• Drivers of all-terrain vehicles (ATV’s and Four Wheelers) must have a valid state driver’s license.
• All horse units must have their own “pooper scoopers” to clean up (before and after the parade) and along the parade route.
• No Skateboards.
• No go-carts (except for the Shriners).
• No motorcycles (except for the Shriners).
• No demolition derby cars.
• Absolutely no candy or other items may be thrown from any parade unit…Failure to abide by this rule may result in removal from the parade…the fear is that a child will run into the street to get candy and be injured or become a fatal statistic.
• Any Candy may be handed out by walkers on either side of the parade unit.
• No alcoholic beverages.
• All identification signs are the responsibility of the parade unit.
• Demonstrations, performances, routines, etc. are allowed on the parade route…when there is lag in the parade but please alternate street corners and not stop on each corner…CSX Railroad limits the time for the parade so it is a safety issue.
• Please follow the direction of parade workers at all times… failure to do so may result in your removal from participation in the parade.
• The contact person for each unit or group is responsible for distributing these rules to all participants prior to the day of the parade. Be sure to tell every person in your group the exact location and time that your group is to meet & assemble.
ALL UNITS: You are responsible for: PICKING UP ANY TRASH IN YOUR ASSEMBLY AREA!
